Conformity Names Tom Smith CEO As Company Expands

Veteran Software Industry Executive to Lead Growth of SaaS Management Pioneer

Austin, TX – March 4, 2009 – Conformity, Inc., creators of the first platform to enable organizations to centrally govern and manage software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud based applications within the enterprise, today announced the appointment of veteran software industry executive Tom Smith as CEO of the company. Scott Bils, co-founder and former CEO, will assume responsibility for Conformity’s marketing, product management and business development activities. Tom Smith brings to Conformity over 28 years of experience in executive management, enterprise sales and business development and strategic execution that includes founding executive roles at four successful software and technology businesses. Prior to Conformity, Smith was CEO of Countermind, where he grew the privately funded software company to a leadership position within the mobile logistics space. Tom also was a founding executive of @hand, where was responsible for managing all sales, marketing and business development activities. Smith also has held key sales and general management roles at Rational Software, Dazel Corp. and Hewlett-Packard.

As part of its 2009 organization expansion plan, Conformity also announced today that Brian Kerns will be joining the company as Director of Product Management. Kerns brings fifteen years of experience in product management and business operations to Conformity. Most recently Kerns was senior product manager at Polycom, where he defined and managed the product strategy and roadmap for the company’s video product portfolio. Kerns also has held senior product management and operations roles at Scalable Software, Mirage Networks, Works.com, Tivoli Systems and National Instruments.

Going forward, Conformity will continue its focus on execution of its business plan, which includes accelerating development of its first-to-market SaaS management solution, establishing key SaaS industry partnerships and expanding sales and marketing efforts.
